this beer should be hideous, but its really very good. i didnt even think it sounded good, but ordered one at three four beer co in fort collins because the idea fascinated me. they were smart to keep it subtle on the green peppercorn, that can be a pretty pungent flavor, and in my head it would take over the beer, a salty briny session wheat that was also sour, sounds gross right? well, its scaled back just right in all facets, and actually ends up being an interesting and very tasty summer brew. looks the part, hazy pale yellow with a short white head. smells weird but good, quite salty, with an herbal peppery spice to it, less of the coriander thing going on, the green peppercorn sort of takes that role over. good lactic presence, acidic but drinkable, and cleaner than most of these, i like that, especially in hot weather. the green peppercorn adds its very distinct flavor but in a very appropriate proportion, working quite well with the fresh white wheat malt and the salt, savory like an olive loaf or something, i like it more and more as i drink on it. not too sour either which helps, but very dry. i think they have done about as well with this as possible, cool introduction of a strange ingredient! nice to see upslope getting out there a little bit!
