2020 Wild Christmas Ales is a blend of mature sour beer both from oak barrels and our French oak foeder, which was then conditioned on bergamot orange juice, orange zest, and Saigon cinnamon for two months before packaging. Notes of candied orange, cranberry, and warm cinnamon are delivered by pleasant tartness and light sweetness. This beer is a perfect fireside libation for the cold winter months.

Light, somewhat cloudy amber-orange body topped with a thin yet lasting fizzy head. Dry wood smell with a touch of cranberry. Cranberry and orange flavor dominate the taste; tart; bare trace of cinnamon. Medium body; tangy and acidic; juicy with a touch of dryness, mostly near the finish.
The beer delivers a nice tart and sweet holiday fruit taste. The barrel and foeder aging are most noticeable in the aroma although a bit shows up in the mouthfeel with a very light dryness. The orange and cranberry blend nicely together and are not overpowering. This is a fine version of Upslopes annual (and ever-changing) Christmas ales.

Canned October 16th 2020.
Pours a hazy dark amber with a small head of foam. Foam doesn't stay around very long.
Big notes of oak, tartness, orange, cranberry, hints of cinnamon. Nice aromas.
The taste brings out more of the cinnamon, fruity tartness, mild sweetness.
Good mouthfeel, very good beer for one session.
