On draught at Wyoming Ale Works.

Pours a deep clear amber with a fine layer of foam.

Smell is malty, biscuit and caramel, some mild hop bitterness.

The taste is smooth with notes of biscuit, caramel, mild bitterness. Malt is good and probably will get better as the beer warms up so..I will wait a bit.

The malty flavours do intensify somewhat and they come across as fairly clean.

Good mouthfeel.

I like it.

draught
Medium dark orange/chestnut look. Medium thick, frothy, ivory head, with lacing. Full, toasted toffee and caramel malt aroma, with a little allspice type note, on the side. Really balanced, off-dry, medium light caramel malt and a very mild hop edge, that has the slightest fruity spice tinge.

sometimes you just need a dark lager in the morning, and this really hit for me, darn near my first drink following a cup of coffee, very well made, the first beer i have had from upslope in what might be years. this has a deep chestnut hue to it, a great head, and lots of bubbles, it looks rich, a shade darker and a half step fuller than most, but well refined. the nose and taste show a little sweet caramelized type malt, a hint of brown sugar to it there, maybe a corn sweetness as well, and a flavorful lager yeast strain. i get some light citrus, some pale malt too, a deep tupelo honey sort of vibe, a light cardboard layer i kind of like, toffee, but its not really sweet even with all that. the yeast dries it out pretty well, and even though it has more body than many it drinks plenty easy, i like it being a little more hearty, and with all this carbonation its mighty satisfying. not overly complex or anything, but i really dont need that in this style. i feel like upslope has always done a pretty steady job with classic styles, and they deliver again here in a somewhat more robust take on this style. they never have really gotten enough credit for keeping it simple in a good way...

Got this beer from coworkers as part of a birthday present.

A&S: Transparent and lively amber-colored beer. The head pours a finger and hangs around in whisps and a ring around the edge. The aroma consists of caramel malts, brown sugar, slightly nutty, and has hints of chocolate.

T&M: The taste of this beer is surprisingly almost absent. If I try really hard, I get hints of caramel malts similar to the aroma, but almost nothing else. I know this style isn't meant to be bold, but this still seems a bit much. Very drinkable. The mouthfeel is crisp and refreshing. Not heavy on the palate.

Overall: In particular summer outside hangout situations, I could see this beer being a nice alternative to other big-brand lagers, it's just nothing I would seek out.

12 oz can poured into Duvel tulip. BB AUG 11 21 printed on bottom of can. So this still has 3 months left in it. so probably fairly fresh then. Ingredients say Snowmelt, Malt, Flaked Maise, Tettnanger hops, Contessa hops, Yeast.

Appearance - Pours large 3 finger tan head with decent to low retention and low irregular lacing and stick. Clear, well filtered brown body. 4.25

Smell - Musky dirt and roasted malt with some corniness. Actually somewhat pleasant. Something about it reminds me strongly of childhood for some reason. Maybe the corn? Hard to tell. 4.5

Taste - Tastes exactly like it smells. Bringing what you'd expect to life, just in a more vibrant manner. 4.5

Mouthfeel - Refreshing. Light to light-medium bodied. Finishes mostly clean other than a faint bitterness, but for this style that's quite apt. 4.5

Overall - No off-notes anywhere. Well crafted. A fairly pleasant, easy going, refreshing and sessionable dark lager. 4.5

A hop flavor higher than say, Negra Modelo; some sweet, too. Malt: 96.39 %, the rest, not malt. Nevertheless, enjoyable very cold.

I put this as Munich Dunkel since I assume their inspiration is Negra Modelo. That being said I found this much more malty and roasted, not bad at all just not what I was expecting. Might update as I get through the pack but it's a pretty good beer if you like malty stuff I think.

I lowered my rating cuz this just is too malty and a little thick, it still isnt bad or anything but I don't feel like im drinking any kind of lager.
