Brewed in the style of the modern Oktoberfest beer, this malt-forward lager features Leopold Bros. Floor-Malted Pilsner malt and Hallertauer Mittelfrüh hops for an authentic taste of autumnal refreshment. A sweet, fresh-baked bread nose is followed by light herbaceous hop character and a smooth finish.

This is a very well done festbier. It's got a great balance of malt and spiced hops and comes in at an almost sessionable 5.5% ABV. I've been kind of meh on Upslope beers in the past, as nothing has really stood out for me, but this one is their best work so far.

The pour is deep golden yellow with orange tinges & a fair amount of carbonation. The taste is clean, crisp, doughy malts, herbal, & a hint of honey treacle on the backend. I realized after drinking enough oktoberfest/marzen beers & festbiers over the years that the oktoberfest/marzen style tastes a little better than the festbier style, imo. Cheers! B-

Clear golden color, creamy white head. Great retention.

Smells like freshly baked bread, cooked apples, honey, and hay.

Taste follows the nose. Freshly baked bread, honey, cooked apple, cereal grains, vanilla, hay. Sweet but crisp.

Good festbier. I'd recommend it.

Look is clear and amber not the most head I've seen but poured at an angle, light lacing on glass

Smell is definitely a lager, very yeasty, sweet grain follows, light hops at first bit as the beer warms becomes more grainy

Taste is crisp with a light bitter hop that comes in after the initial lager taste, in the background is a light roasty flavor from some of the malts, but this is lighter than expected as an octoberfest newbie.

Feel is easy drinking but hefty enough to be a satisfying afterwork drink, just wish the malts were roastier, but for some reason I thought more octoberfest were darker ales.

Overall an interesting lager that's a change of pace from your standard lager beverage, not a substitute for dark ales but something good to share for the holidays.

12oz can with a best by date of 12/21/21. Opened 10/31/21.
1 finger white head with good retention at 1/4" then a solid cap...leaves behind copious sticky lacing.
Deep golden beer with good clarity.
Honeyed malt with a light floral and spicy aroma.
Grainy, bready, and gritty malt, slight sweetness but enough spicy/herbal hops to balance it out.
Medium body and carbonation. Smooth and dry finish. Nice surprise overall.
Very Good.

Bright and clear, light amber colored body; robust carbonation; nice head, thick and semi-creamy. Wonderful toasted grain scent; very mild herbal and spicy hop presence. Taste is of toasted grain; bread crust and a small touch of honey; mild hop bitterness. Medium body; slightly sweet; warm.

This is a first-class festbier highlighting a light, toasty malt flavor, and a fine hop bitterness presences.

Poured at 43 °F; can dating info: BB DEC 15 21

Best by December 15th 2021.

It pours a pale gold with a very healthy head of foam.

Smells bready, yeasty, light sweetness going on, smell is on the dry side.

Bready taste, light sweetness, malt is dominant, as it should be, slight bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel =fine.

I'm glad that I picked up a 6pack of this. It fits the style very nicely.

I wish they would have called this just festbier since that's what this actually is, it's in a blue can and still called Oktoberfest but notice it says festbier, this is a festbier not a marzen, you can tell by the non amber color, this like a pilsner with just a touch more malt. I definitely like this a good bit as a festbier.
