new limited release series beer for summer, a clean enough sour packed with fruit, mango way ahead of lime for me, but this is pretty solid overall, grainy enough to be beery rather than juicy, and not too sharp to drink a few of, i think they did a nice job with this, even if its not my favorite trend in beer right now. the pour from the miami dolphins colored can is hazy orange, bright and frothy headed, with good bubbles and no yucky sediment or anything. the aroma and flavor both show a ton of pulpy sweet mango, summery and ripe and natural enough, even thought i am guessing some kind of puree not whole fruit was used, it works, and the sweetness it brings offsets some of the mostly clean lemony lactic pucker. the lime adds some sharpness, a sort of umbrella drink cocktail vibe, and adds to the summery good time feel of this one, without making it any more acidic which is nice. its natural as well, zesty as well as juicy, and the lime and mango go together super well. this isnt nerdy wild beer or anything, but its not cheap either, and i like the grain having a little character, not heavy or sugary but it does balance the fruit and add some needed earthiness in contrast. tidy ferment, not that much residual sugar for all this mango, an nicely carbonated. solid offering overall, good combination of flavors, still beer. upslope has put out some good beers recently but they always seem sort of under the radar even after all these years...
