It pours clean, mostly clear with a nice copper color and a slight head; a very picturesque brew.
The smell is slightly sweet and hints of caramel and nuts... very pleasant aroma, makes me crave bbq oddly enough.
The taste is very nice; crisp and refreshing with balanced mix of bitterness and maltiness. There's a bit more maltiness than bitterness, but that's the beauty of this Dunkel. And at 4.7%, this one can be enjoyed time and time again...
The aftertaste is a nice, slowly diminishing bitterness, but not a hoppy bitterness, more of a dark chocolate bitterness. There's not a lot of it, but a nice touch that ends each sip with a nice little surprise kick that lingers nicely.
