On-tap at the brewery.
Pours a hazy straw color with a small head. Smells pretty tasty with a grassy and earthy hop nose. Taste is mild and refreshing. A bit lemony and a bit grassy. Also a little honey flavor. Not as dry a mouthfeel as a typical kolsch. Crisp and fluid on the tongue. Very drinkable and a perfect beer for a warm night in the Bubes beer garden.

I must say I am a fan of this style, it is light and refreshing for an ale.
Served cool in a standard pint at the brewery in Mt. Joy.
A - Very clear and golden w/ an inch of white foam. Traces of lace hang on after the pour.
S - Light malt scent w/ a hint of grassy hop aromas.
M - Nice body w/ lighter medium feel. Malty w/ moderate carbonation.
T - A bubbly sweet, light malt taste is followed by a bit of spice that is mellow. The hop flavors are gentle citrus w/ a noble hop sweetness. The taste is like a pilsner in some ways w/ a slightly grassy effect. Nice creamy finish of malt w/ a tinge of honey-like smoothness characteristic of a Kolsch.
D - Fresh and refreshing, a very satisfying and quaffable beer even at 6% abv. You really get the taste of German malt. This is a pretty solid, drinkable ale.

This is my first Kolsch and it was served in pint glass at Bube's.
A: Cloudy, yellow/gold in color, thin looking. No head, with little lacing.
S: Slightly grainy and grassy. Nothing else detected.
T: Not bad, hoppy but only slightly dry. Some sort of citrusy taste, but not very powerful.
M: Thin, watery. Not as dry as expected. No carbonation at all.
D: Easy to drink in larger quantities, very sessionable for me. Mild flavor but not that weak.
If this was all that was available, I'd be fine with that. But, the next time I want to try their other beers to compare.

Served on-tap at Bube's in Mt. Joy, PA.
A: The ale is a very pale yellow color, almost like it is watered down. There is a neglible head providing hints of white foam around the end of the glass.
S: The aroma is a slightly grainy, sweet floral aroma.
T: The ale has picked up a nice floral, dry character. The malt body is thin and slightly sewet, providing a bit of biscuity malts with a grainy sugar flavor. The hop character is equally restrained. It provides hints of floral sweeetness back lacks a clearly defined hop profile.
M: The floral sweetness is subtle and lively, providing a hint of refreshing hop and grain.
D: This is a good session beer. The flavor profile is restrained but present enough to stand out.

I was not a big fan of this beer. It is not typically a favorite of mine but I like a refreshing easy drinking straightforward Kölsch from time to time. Gaffel Kölsch is quite quaffable. This one was not on the money for me.
Appearance: Served hazy gold white head, moderate lacing.
Smell: reserved musty grain aroma, lightly sweet malts, and suggestions of grassy hops.
Taste: It had a non-committal teeter-totter light grassy bitterness on the cheeks and grain on the palate. Something was off like a bit of a lemon soapy taste and a little bit metallic. After drinking it bit I adjusted to this flavor and it was tolerable. The aftertaste is supposed to be bitter and dry but this just kind of annoyed me.
Mouthfeel: Light and dry. Apropos to style.
Drinkability: This beer actually becomes more drinkable the more of it that I drank so yes I'd say it a drinkable beer but I wouldnt pick it personally. I'd go with the ESB.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
