Thanks to Mark for sharing this -enjoyed chilled in a goblet.
The color is a beautiful ruby-hued with translucent clarity and thin white head with very fine bead and lace that sticks with lasting retention. The smell is interesting with nice amount of malt yet a slight tart fruit aroma and mild woody vanilla scent from the barrel aging. The feel is very good - smooth for an 11% quad with a nice tart finish.
The taste has a sort of dark fruit sweetness like fig with a subtle dark sugar and mild tamarind-like tangy yeast quality with the bacteria adding to the whiskey barrel in the taste with a smooth vanilla accent and dried almost raisin-like taste. Overall this is a well done sour barrel aged quad that is not tart enough to be considered a wild ale and still retains the quad's character
