not quite as good as the outmeal stout but, still good in its own right. very dark in color, thin creamy tan head that disappeared in less than a minute. not much of a smell. I tasted rich, roasted coffee a bit of caramel and a little malt. mouthful was quite creamy not very acidic. I drink three pints on this particular night, I think that should explain drinkability. I'm not the only one who enjoyed it as I sat at the bar I saw several growlers being filled with this wonderful brew.

Served on-tap at Bube's in Mt. Joy, PA.

A: The stout is pitch black, looking very thick and mysterious, with a huge head. I ordered a glass and the top 3 fingers of it were head, thick billowy mocha-colored foam.

S: The aroma on the stout is a dry roasted coffee aroma, slightly bitter. There is also a caramel aroma lingering around.

T: The first thing that I notice about the stout is a dry character, not quite acidic but very heavy on a caramel flavor. That caramel sweetness takes over the whole beer, allowing hints of roasted malts to emerge but generally coated the ale with a sickly sweet body. The finish stays sweet, perhaps slightly acidic and dry, long after the beer is swallowed.

M: The mouthfeel seems over the top for an irish stout. The dryness and slight acidity are present, but the caramel drowns out the roasted malts that I wanted to taste.

D: The ale is drinkable, even if it is not 100% perfect style-wise. I'd probably call it quits after two pints though as the caramel could overwhelm.

As I was not a big fan of the Kölsch I started the evening with I was very pleased to find a pleasant flavorful stout before me next. For a beer they called a dry stout it seemed creamy with some milk stout attributes but I am not complaining because I liked it very much.

Appearance: served looking opaque black by the light I was in, with a tan head and loads of lacing.

Smell: The aroma is roasty malts, chocolate and coffee been.

Taste: Easy and delectable. This is not a blow me away beer but one that is simple and simply easy to enjoy. Gentle flavors of toasty chocolate, dark malts and creamy lactic milk-stout attribute, followed by hints of coffee and a lightly dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Solid medium body creamy beer with a malt backbone and a pleasant almost dry aftertaste.

Drinkability: I am a stout fan. I really enjoyed having a stout option tonight. Well done.

Bube's is finally stepping their beers up a notch.

Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

Served as a virtually black beverage with a nice creamy head. Left nice lacing as the head slowly fell. Smell is mainly of roasted malt with some hints of chocolate and bitter coffee. Taste is dark and roasty with stronger notes of coffee present. A good firm dry bitterness develops at the ending to present a nice drinking beer. Good example of the style. Could be a great session beer.

Appearance: clear black in color with a 1/2" head that lasted quite a while. Some mild lacing developed.

Smell: roasted malts and hints of chocolate were easily detectable.

Taste: simple but well done. Roasted malt were nicely balanced with some soft coffee and dark chocolate tones. Mild bitterness. Dry throughout.

Mouthfeel: medium-heavy in body. Smooth and dry from start to finish. The aftertaste was short with the roasted malt tones lingering briefly.

Drinkability: definitely a worthy selection. A few of these can be easily quaffed. Try it.
