Appearance: Pours a clear gold color with a ivory head and attractive heavy lacing.
Smell: Beautiful bold fresh hops show through a bit of grain and malt. The hop aroma is leafy and green and all around pleasant.
Taste: Sweet grain and bold hop flavors balance nicely but lean to the hoppy side of the scale of APAs. It is almost a bit harsh with acidity and bitterness at times but although it skirts the line of too much it doesn't cross to cloying. The finish in astringent and shows the alcohol limiting it in drinkability to some; but I found it very nice and tasty. It does seem more like an IPA that didn't turn out quite like they wanted so they called it an APA instead... but that is just my opinion. It doesn't have the sweetness or the malt bill to be an IPA. 6.5% is a bit to big for your typical APA though so ... It is interesting anyway.
Mouthfeel: very dry on the cheeks with a light body.
Drinkability: I found this to be a very tasty beer. I could drink a few but it'll wreck your palate shortly.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
