A pint served at the Biergarten at Bube's.
A: The ale is a lighter muddy brown color, the best that I could associate it with was melted butter awaiting a lobster or crab to be dipped into it. The head was a thin white band initially and never improved on that.
S: The nose was full of hops, dirty and earthy with a concentration that reminded me of a harvest ale full of fresh wet hops.
T: The ale has a strong hop presence that relies heavily on earthy, European flavors to make it mark. The caramel and biscuit malts provide a soft foundation for those hops. I am very pleased with the reserved strength that the hops show off, creating a fleeting bitterness that remains light.
M: The mouthfeel is hoppy without numbing the tastebuds. The flavors are refreshing and an excellent mild IPA for the summertime.
D: The abv is a bit too high to pound. Despite that, I think that this is one of the best beers that I've had at Bube's.
