A pint at the brewpub. A nice pairing with carnitas tacos.
A: The ale is amber color, coppery and clear. Atop it, a half a finger of head, nicely lacing.
S: The nose is grainy with a unique floral bouquet. I called this a pale ale, as it is light on biscuit with the perfumey nose. Hemp doesn't impart an epic aromatic nose though.
T: Caramel and biscuit start the ale off nicely, a chewy landscape. More sweetness follows, the hemp and hops I'd say. A little citrusy, leafy vegetal hop aromas follow but aren't overpowering. The two aspects in tandem result in a very drinkable ale.
M: Biscuity with a soft bitterness, the ale was intriguing from the start. The spiciness of the ale went well with the candied jalapenos.
