Man, what a rarity! I was on a short-duration, short-distance field trip today to Bube's Brewery in support of my upcoming ASN column when I was given the opportunity to try this example of a rare style.
It arrived with a light skim of bone-white head, but since it was brimful, who would I have been to complain? Nose was citrus and salt. Think of licking the web of your thumb and sprinkling it with salt, plus accompanying it with a slice of lemon to chase a shot of tequila. Color was a murky lemon-yellow. Mouthfeel was medium with a wonderful saltiness on the tongue. As a retired sailor, i.e. a salt, this was right up my alley! It was not as intensely salty as Local Option's Schmetterling Gose, but it filled the bill. Finish was dry and lemony, but not gaspingly dry. If you are a ticker, this would be a nice opportunity to try the style, but call ahead for availability.
