Poured from fridge temp. Pours a nice dark brown with good carbonation. Nose is RYE! This is made with 70% rye malts, and it really comes through on the nose. Lots of figs, toffee, and some tree bark. The taste is really nice. Very much aligned with an English barley wine. Lots of rye malt coming through, along with figs, toffee, a bit of chocolate, and other dark fruit. A slight bitterness on the back end, but not much of a trace of alcohol. Really amazing taste. I am pleasantly surprised by this beer! The mouthfeel is full bodied and rich. Overall, a fantastic beer.
