Copenhagen 7711 2020. 50 cl can from Meny, Østerfælled torv, Kbh. Ø. Weird drawing on the can of a red head with very big eyes full of blue sky and clouds.

Pours opaque, dark brown with a small, light beige head. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. It does not have the classic Guiness nitro-look. No lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor laden with cocoa and lactose mingling with a very subtle scent of coffee. Roasted malts peeking in providing a slightly burnt scent.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, smooth texture with a nitro touch.

Flavor is fairly intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet like sugared coffee. Lingers for a while. Finish is sweetish and a bit watery.

Smooth as hell with a gentle nitro touch but I generally prefer my latte less sweetened.

L- As near as matters pitch black. Just a strand of deep ruby red shows as a glint when the glass is held up close to a halogen lamp. Pours with brief part-cover of mid-tan foam, soon leaving just a ring.
S- Coffee, big-time.
T- Coffee, smokey notes, a charred flavour. Not bitter coffee though, it has a mellow sweetness that takes that (potential) hard edge off.
F- Very low carbonation in the mouth (as well as the glass^) - unusual. That's unorthodox, others have noted it below, and I'm not pursuaded it adds overall.
O- I had a Yeti - American Imperial Stout yesterday; I enjoyed it but my wife found it 'too coffee/bitter'. This IS notably coffee but without the bitter and instead a balancing sweet/richness. In that respect it is less challenging (and she likes the taste of this one). What I don't really understand is that essentially this beer might as well have literally zero carbonation, for all that such is making it's presence known. 'Interesting to try, shame about the CO2'?
500ml can (far out lable!). Bought from London Beer Lab @ Brixton. BB: '07/08/2021 - 070819:56'

A 500ml can with a best before date of 19th February 2021. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.

Appearance: Black in colour with a very thin beige head that stuck around for a long time while leaving only some sparse lacing.

Aroma: Roast, coffee, dark chocolate and brown sugar, but it was all a little light.

Taste: Weak flavours, watered down almost, but there’s roast, dark chocolate, coffee, light bitterness and a splash of milk.

Mouthfeel: Watered down, light to medium bodied, with soft carbonation.

Overall: While the roast, cocoa were quite nice, the coffee flavours was like watered down coffee and just didn’t work for me.
