375 mL bottle. Black, a bit transparent. Smells of strong whiskey and roasted malt. Tastes of licorice, roasted malt, lots of whiskey, vanilla, mildly sweet. Medium heavy, but not too sweet. Simple, but tasty.

375 ml bottle, batch #1377, as Lervig Off the Rack No.1, at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 14.5%. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Distinct aroma of dark malts, molasses, Jack Daniels whiskey, vanilla and oak, a hint of toasted coconut. Rich and warming mouthfeel. Sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma.

only the other day, i had my worst beer of all time, a very strong imperial stout, here i am with another very strong imperial stout, and it’s one of the best of all time. the aroma gave it all away; i knew it was going to be excellent. flavours are molasses, treacle, milk and dark chocolate, mild coffee, a lot of whiskey, vanilla, rum, cognac, black and brown bread, tobacco, earthy, oaky. full bodied, low carbonation, silky smooth, boozey but not in an overwhelming way, very very drinkable for its strength, it’s divine it really is, a pleasure to drink, amazing stuff from lervig.
