Copenhagen 20/6 2024. 37,5 cl capped and waxed bottle from Meny, Nordens Plads, Frb. F. Dark blue label with letters in gold.
Pours opaque dark brown with a mid-sized beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet odor of malt mingling with a potent earthy scent. A notable undercurrent of dark alcohol. Sweet dark malts, brown sugar and toffee. Leather and humid soil. Sharp edge of Bourbon.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, viscous, a bit sticky yet lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is rich and sweet with a bitter undertone. Lingering. Finish is bourbon and chocolate.
A quite intense breakfast experience.

Taste: Light to moderately sweet, maple syrup, vanilla, caramel, light roast, coffee, chocolate, bourbon, with a light lasting bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Rich, smooth, creamy, full bodied, with soft carbonation.
Overall: A very enjoyable sipper, with very good sweet and bitter balance, and great aroma and flavours to top it off.

375 ml waxed bottle, batch #1390, 2020 vintage (Rackhouse series), Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 13.5%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate tan head. Lovely aroma of roast malts, bourbon whiskey, oak (or maple) and vanilla. Rich and warming mouthfeel. The sweet flavour has the same elements as the aroma, also notes of caramel, liquorice and chocolate, moderate bittering hops. An excellent beer!
