August 2010: 330 ml bottle (filtered and pasteurised), also sampled unpasteurised on tap, both courtesy of Lervig brewery. Deep golden colour, big to moderate white head. Very nice aroma of American hops (Chinook, Amarillo and Citra - also dry hopped), notes of orange marmalade and pine. Refreshing flavour with distinct hoppy notes throughout, citric and resinous notes, not too sweet, bitter finish. Light bodied, ideally this should have been a beer around 5.6% ABV, but then you have the Norwegian limit at 4.75% ABV for beers sold in grocery stores, making it necessary to compromise. Still, this is an enjoyable beer as it is.

Appearance: Clear gold color with one finger white head. Some lacing.
Smell: Very pronounced aromas to the nose (WOW). Tropical fruit, floral, pine, resinous and citrus aromas.
Taste: Same as the nose. Tropical fruit, floral, pine, resinous and citrus. Dominate of floral taste.
Mouthfeel: Good balanced. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall smooth finish without astringency and harshness.
Overall: A pale, refreshing and hoppy ale with sufficient supporting malt to make the beer balanced.
PS: Just added in the list of my favorite beers! Amazing one!

I had a taster of this on a flight at Billie's Bier Kafeteria in Antwerp, May 2018. It was Ok, but there was not a lot of hop. Still, it was a decently flavorful pale ale -- fruit and floral, apparently. The bottle list at this bar had Prairie on it for the Tulsa fans.

Cool enough logo on the bottle, a rugged character looking out to sea, nice blue colouring.
On pour get a massive white head with a lot of carbonation, fizzing away like mad, a lively beer from the start!
A golden coloured beer with what looks like a reddish hue, and after we get a well maintained white creamy head that lasts. Some lacing present.
Looks very nice, like a fine wine! To be looked at and admired. Good start.
Holy fuck that smell is powerful stuff, very strong on the nose, very spicy and very fruity, both regular fruits and the more tropical ones too.
The toxicity level is high, nearly afraid to drink this fella! Floral smell, and that smell off the hops, is powerful and very intense. Bit like nail varnish or paint stripper. Piney as well.
Tastes like your average IPA, strong in the hops and in the taste. A long gentle bitter finish with this one. This beer has three hops, the citrus flavouring Citra hops, the Chinook hops tasting of grapefruits, and the fruity Amarillo hops, and boy does it show as all three are easily found on the taste buds.
Not a bad beer, very, very tasty, grains, hops and the light tropical fruits all lovely on the tongue, going down nice, this is a beer to sip and enjoy. Also can taste the yeast, a slight kick to let you know its there all the same!
Taste is hoppy, of course, but the balance between sweetness and hoppiness is exactly spot on.
A nice tasting beer that is definitely worth looking at again.

Had on tap. I felt this apa started to feel more like a lager in taste complexion with strong bread and sweeter malt notes, so the feel went out of its way to convince us it is not by being a thin and a little watery. Still the grapefruit and pine do remind the palate that this is an apa, just not a well constructed one. But it smells decent enough as it comes all together.

Clear honey gold colour. Aromas of spicy hops, caramel, sticky tree fruit hints and bread malts, a little sweet like an oktoberfest or holiday beer. Balanced malt body throughout. Semisweet wort-like finish. Light, crisp, refreshing and a wholesome body. Light bread and spice notes under a mild pale malt body. Very delicious and drinkable. Dry clean finish leaves you wanting more.

Again something from Lidl, Swedish import. Looks good (golden amber with a hue like a "proper" ale would), smells also okay, one would expect a proper American ale.
However, its taste is not that proper: bitterness is what prevails in a rather watered down manner. Feels like a very thin session ipa with only hints of the hops and some weird bitterness.
As good as it started, as disappointing it became in the end. Very mediocre, still better than the Euro Lagers of the same price range.

Pours pale yellow gold, mostly clear, and the head is medium with average retention and little lace. Nose is light American hops with citrus and fruit, but pretty easy going. Taste is equally light with low malt and medium hop profiles. Just an easy drinking beer that won't surprise or excite, but there isn't anything wrong with it. Certainly okay for a 4.7% beer if you are throwing a few back and not really thinking about it.

Poured into a tulip glass.
A: The body is mid way between orange and yellow. The head is small but shows good retention. There's no lacing.
S: The aroma has a surprising milky touch that I can't decipher what it is. Beyond this weird thing, it's resinous and tropical, though not that much on the tropical side.
T: The taste begins with a weak citric profile of passed tangerines followed by a also small resinous profile. It seems that it's looking for drinkability by lowering prominence on the flavours. In the back, a medium hoppy flavour.
M: Body is medium. Carbonation is medium high. Alcohol is unnoticed. Bitterness is medium high.
O: Not sure if this APA is looking for high drinkability but the flavours and aromas should have a bigger presence here.
