Sampled at the AOBF 5/24/03.
I am lucky to have been able to sample this specially-prepared beer for the AOBF.
Deep, dark brown in appearance. Virtually no head. Vapors of licorice waft from the glass, entwined with the thick alcohol scents. Taste follows the smell, with a hefty dose of alcohol up front, followed by a lovely mellow taste imparted by the cask. As expected, very "large" in the mouthfeel department. Not for chugging, either.
The CBC scores with another stellar beer. Seek them out, for they know how to make spectacular beers.
