Pours a copper color and perfectly clear. However, there was no head and flat. Almost as if it was cask conditioned. The aroma is all malty and sweet; slightly sugary smell. At first the flavor is all malt and nothing but malt, and then there is the slightest hop tones. However, the hops are essentially a passing fancy and left me wondering "Is that it?" Not particularly balanced, but the malts were not overly sweet so it was still drinkable. Medium body and slightly watery but flat.

This beer had that same North Carolina taste that other beers like Red Oak and Top of the Hill and Foothills have- that thick, sweet taste that is really nice and good for drinkability. However, it really detracted from this beer because there wasn't a hint of anything resembling an APA here, like hops. I think it tasted good, but for the style, it just wasn't representative enough to warrant a great rating. I actually really like this beer, it tastes like Red Oak on steriods- really full bodied, dark amber color, nice sweet maltiness and great drinkability. But no hops= no APA...sorry.

Served with slight head, little lacing. Dark goldon cloudy color. Knew something was wrong when smelled, no hoppy smell, more sweet and spoiled. Taste was downright terrible. Sweet taste with a terrible mouthfeel and not a single hint of hops. Perhaps a bad batch or malt or grains or hops? Or maybe lines were just cleaned. Worse IPA every tasted.

The beer arrived at the table a nice golden color with a persistent white head that laced the glass.

The aroma was critrusy with a slight maltiness. The citrus aroma had a definite lemon character to it.

The flavor was crisp with malt and bitterness working well together in balance.

The finish was dry and bitter into the aftertaste and the body was medium.
