A: Cloudy yellow color. Poured a 1 finger stark white head with good retention. Laced in broken rings. Decanted continually.

S: Pretty standard hefe with clove and citrus zest with a wet bread foundation.

T: Slightly sweet wheat in the forefront followed quickly by cloves and lemon zest which provide a spicy crispness to the lighly bitter finish. I was looking for the banana notes, but didn't really come through excpept maybe in the sweetness of the wheat malt.

M: Light body. Carbonation fit the beer nicely; much more and would have given it a fizzy feel.

D: This would be a great summer beer (it was -2 when I found my way to the bar). Just a solid HW in a world full of them - and there's nothing wrong with that.

My sampler included a seasons German style Hefe Weizen. Not sure if it was the Ale Hous Weiss.

Med. cloudy, deep gold to copper. Low malt and clove aromaMild clove and wheat flavor with slight DMS. Yeasty finish but not the spicy clove of a true Bavarian Hefe. A bit lack luster.

Clouded yellow under the remains of a white head.
Clove and lemon dominated aromatics.
Begins like 10,000 other hefes. Dryish up front. Wheat provides the only sense of girth, along with some trace graininess. Yeast adds cloves and lemon rinds. Then it fades away.
The body is medium.
This is a prototypic brewpub weissbier, and a generally solid one.

Served cloudy golden in color with a thin white head that retreated to the side of the imperial pint. Aroma consisted of wheat, with some citrus spiciness to it. Mouthfeel had an uncommonly smooth and pleasant creaminess, along with a touch of crispness toward the back. Wheat flavor gives way to the classical banana fruitiness. Citrus and a hint of cloves are followed by some vanilla sweetness. Styrian Golding hops provide a touch of bitterness and balance to the wheat malt. Truly a perfect summer refresher.

This is an ideal beer to enjoy while sitting outside and taking in a perfect summer's evening with friends on the Ale House's deck, while watching the boats go by on the Milwaukee River. Ale House Weiss is a pleasant and refreshing offering. Honestly, one of the best Weiss beers I have ever tried.
