Arrived black in color with a thin brown head. Aroma consisted of caramel, chocolate, roasted grains, and a touch of honey sweetness. Full-bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Robust in flavor. Caramel and molasses up front. Roasted malt flavors quickly dominate. Rye utilized adds a unique flavor to this porter, in addition to the buckwheat honey. Hops balance out the beer nicely. Just the right amount of bitterness. Finishes with a sublte smokey dryness. Average abv content makes this one a hearty session beer. Nicely done.
