Copper amber pour from a 12 oz btl. Into tulip glass. Slight white head sticking tightly to glass.
Caramel, oak brandy,, alcohol, a bit of toffee on the nose.
Taste is allusive. I do get a bit of apple at the start, which I did not think possible, Rich smooth finish despite the high abv.
Find it, buy it? Yes. Very good stuff.

12oz bottle, snifter glass. Dark cola brown body, one finger white head, frothy collar, no lacing. Smell is brandy, warm oak, a bit of caramel, a bit of resin, toffee, a bit of green apple. Flavour follows, with toffee, a bit of caramel, green apple, more toffee. Bit of warming brandy. it's kind of like a caramel dipped green apple with a dab of brandy, something like that. It's alright, the green apple makes me think that this was aged in apple brandy barrels. Either way, solid. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, quite thin for a barleywine, even at 11.5%. A bit of warming green apple and brandy on the finish. Weird combination of multiple components of the barleywine, ultimately thinner than I'd like.

Poured 12oz bottle into stemmed tulip. Dark Mahogony with slight haze. The head is a light tan and very thin as is the lacing on the side of the glass Dark sugars, malts and dark fruits are present. Raisins, plums, brown sugar, toffee and caramel. Hints of brandy bring it together. Notes of dark fruit, caramel, raisins, toffee, prunes. Sweet brandy, dark sugars in the middle. Finish is mild and slightly sweet. Medium body and medium level of carbonation, smooth as I would like it to be. Nice barelywine that is very smooth and easy to drink.
