Had this on the cask at the Milwaukee Ale house. It arrvied a nice clear dark amber color with a small tan head. Not much on the nose, a bit of toasty malts with a hint of chocolate. The taste was more of the same not bad but not great, toasty malts with a slight bitter aftertaste. It had a medium mouthfeel, with low carbonation. A good drinkable beer, but not up with the other scotch ales I've tried.

Cask conditioned and served from the beer engine. Maker's Demise is basically the Ale House's Louie's Demise, but aged in used Maker's Mark barrels. What an amazing effect the oak aging has had on the beer. I had the pleasure of tasting both the original Louie's Demise and the Maker's Demise back-to-back for a true comparison.

Served slightly darker in color than the original Louie's this ale has a hazy dark brown chestnut color to it with a tan head. Thick lacing down the side of the glass throughout consumption. Aroma consists of sweet malt, with hints of oak and a slight bourbon sweetness to it. Mouthfeel is smooth. Taste is quite different from the original -- not necessarily better, but just as good in a different way. Fuller in flavor from the oak aging. Malt has a pleasant smokiness to it and an almost "rye-like" taste. Familiar Maker's Mark bourbon flavor is laced throughout. Hints of charred oak. Finish is spicy and lingering, just like the original.

Amazing what bourbon barrel cask-conditioning can do. A bourbon barrel aged beer should be part of their regular lineup.
