Powers that Be is the Ale House's Celtic Red that's been infused with Powers Irish Whiskey. This was served from their cask pump. Tawny brown in color with a medium brown head. When held to the light, it appears a cloudy, murky red and transitions into leathery brown color around the outside edges of the glass. Aroma consists or caramel malt, whiskey and a touch of oak. Full-bodied mouthfeel. Initial tastes has a caramel sweetness to it. Whisky infusion soon follows and dominates most of the palatte. Touch of toffee and the malt sweetness toward the back. Low hop bitterness.

This was a great combination. The addition of the Powers whiskey added a completely different flavor dimension to the beer. Creative combination for an Irish Red and Irish Whiskey.
