I'm not really sure if this is a Russian Imperial Stout or not. Given the name you would think so but i was told this was around 5.5% so maybe not. Really dark off the cask with a moderate tan head that dwindles to nothing. Smell is milky and a touch espresso. Taste is more diner coffeeish than anything else but also too sweet. Some residual sugars and milk chocolate. Doesn't have that intense coffee or dark fruit I was looking for. The yeast strain seems to be wrong here. Didn't ferment out the sugars too well and gave an off flavor off candid banana and chocolate liquer. The alcohol does sting a bit but its really not that high in alcohol. Cask makes it smooth but this really isn't all that great of a beer.
