From old 2007 notes: (Yes I have a big backlog)
Look is black with some tan head. The taste is good what is should be the style. Thickness is nice and good activity. Overall it is an average beer for the style but not offensive in any way. If its around try it but don't go out of your way.

I visited the Ale House a few days after St. Patrick's day, and they were still featuring this beer and an Irish Red Ale I assumed they brewed for St. Patrick's day. I thought it very reminiscent of Guinness. It featured some wateriness up front, but had some pleasing mild roastiness in the finish that I noticed in the back of my mouth.
Appearance was a rather viscous black with good head formation. Aroma was very mild, and featured some roasted chocolate maltiness. Flavor was as I described above; very mild but pleasing with some wateriness in the mouthfeel. However, this beer was very drinkable and didn't overpower my meal, which is maybe part of the plan for brewpub beers that are sold alongside meals. All-in-all, solid.
