Sampled at Uncle Mike's in an 11 oz. snifter for $4.
Just found my notes for this one, so here goes.

Jewel-toned orange, bright and saturated. Constant foam skim, with copious lacing at it's edges.

Aroma of grassy pine, herbal and leafy fresh hop cones, just a touch catty. Deep and resinous hop character.

Leafy, fresh hop flavors, bitter almost to an aspirin degree. Fairly unique hop-derived flavors, woody pine, grassy, and grapefruit/citrus peel. Maybe a 6/10 on the bitterness scale. Some minor malt sweetness towards the end. Light bodied and slightly viscous with lower carbonation. The lightness and flavor are it's best assets, it's an easy drinking DIPA.

Rusty amber in color with a small haziness. The head is beige and low, and dwindles away over the course of a couple minutes.
The nose brings sweet tropical, orangey notes, backed with pine resin, and a substancial caramel-nut maltiness, complete with cereal grains.
Malt enters the mouth first, with caramel and toffee, toasted nuts and grain. Smaller, fruitier notions peek out as this transitions to hops. Peach especially. Hops bring pine and vague citric hues, but lack some punch and definition for a DIPA.
Medium+ in build, with a sluggish but steady CO2. Alcohol doesn't factor much in terms of drinkability and the category is a general strong suit.
This is a far cry from the upper reaches of the style, but overall, it's not a bad beer, or specifically flawed. Balanced (relatively) and easy to comsume. I'd go at it again.

on tap at the old fashioned last saturday

cell phone notes

appearance: served in a standard pint as everything is at the old fashioned...dark muddy-amber body with a light beige cap

smell: nutty and fairly malty, caramel, bitter pine hops

taste: an average-ish dipa - the hop bite isnt very clean and nutty caramel malts play a pretty big factor...earthy hops, moderate bitterness, sweet toffee

mouthfeel: medium-full

drinkability: ok
