this is the Sheepshead Stout on cask with Kahlua added.
on cask at the brewpub in Milwaukee. pours black with two fingers of creamy tan head that lasts a while and leaves solid lacings. looks great in the glass.
aroma is of lots of chocolate and coffee with a sweetness that blends into a distant lactic note. decent in the nose.
taste is of smooth chocolate with lightly bitter coffee notes along with a distant lactic sweetness that takes away from the coffee's bitterness.
mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with a silky smoothness and a finish of distant residual chocolate and lactic sweetness.
drinkability is decent. the brew is too sweet to sustain the coffee notes. could have been good, it just ends up too sweet with a misplaced lactic quality.
