This was really good, I thought. Most impressive was the finish, which sort of caught me off guard. Definitely had all the characteristics of your typical sweet stout--which is usually my least favorite interpretation of the style--but then on the back end just an explosion of buttery, woody, peanutty sweetness.

Dark chocolate brown pour with a lush 2 finger head that isn't going anywhere soon.
Aroma of melted chocolate, lactose, metal, and oats. Nothing more than this, but that's fine as it does it well and it's plenty loud.
Plenty of delicious chocolate in this one to go around - melted, fudge, mousse...it's all there. It starts with melted pocket chocolate, then oats, sugary milk at the bottom of the bowl, some slight metal, and then chocolate mousse. It's a pretty great flavor profile with minimal flaws (metal).
Feel is smooth and slick, with a creaminess rivaling cappuccinos. A mildly dry finish wraps it up.
Overall, MAH is pretty good at their stouts - I liked their Sweet Potato one a lot, and now this. Very solid offering.

12oz bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark brown body, nearly black, somewhat opaque, one finger offwhite head, short retention, bits of lacing. Smell is milk chocolate and black coffee, touch of roasted barley and a bit of astringent earth. Flavour is similar, nice combination of black coffee and creamer, touch of oatmeal and barley roast. Mouthfeel is thin, but not too thin, fair depth, good carbonation, an easy drinker.

Poured 12oz bottle into snifter. Black coffee with a light 1 finger mocha head. Normal retention with spotty lacing on my glass. Roasted malts with a pleasant coffee aroma. Some chocolate with cream and sugar. Lighter body, which is okay for this stout. It is easy to drink and has nice carbonation. Simple, delicious, and a great price. When you want a lighter, tasty coffee stout, this one hits the spot.

Poured into a pint glass from a 12 oz bottle.
Appearance: very deep, dark brown with a lighter tan head that stays.
Smell: Surprisingly sweet smelling. Caramel, coffee and biscuit notes are detectable.
Taste: Some roasted malt detectable. Coffee and chocolate notes are detectable.
Mouthfeel: Smooth & creaming, can tell the oats coming through. Fairly high carbonation, bit high for an Oatmeal stout.
This is quite an enjoyable brew. Nice smell, taste was pleasant. Only real complaint is the carbonation level. One of my favorite MKE beers.
