1990 bottle. Ruby red color. Sweet cherry pie. Tastes like candy. Cinnamon and almonds. I’d never guess this is 30+ years old. It drinks so easily. Sweet, but fun. 4%

As with all Kriek's look has to be be relative. This pours bright anf fruity simmering head.

Aroma is sublime, total cherry punch, love it or hate it is full engaging.

Taste in s even better, think cherry cheescake in luquid form.

Feel is pretty good too, although a touch artificial on the aftertaste.

Overall, fruit beer might not be your idea of beer, but I am open to anything Belgian, and like all the beers this is better at itself than any upstart replica's....sorry bit of a snipe at the american craft beet scene, but has to be done when Belgian rules the world and America are 100's of years behind:-)

Brouwerij Lindemans "Kriek Foudroyante"
37,5cl green glass bottle, corked and capped, "À consommer de préférence avant: 27 APR 2020 L BD27R KR18083"
3.55€ @ Franprix, 82 rue Mouffetard, Paris, FR

Notes via stream of consciousness: I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this comes from Lindemans (it's printed on the cork) as it reads "Produite pour S.A.DIFCOM". It's poured a hazy dark ruby colored body beneath a pink head. The aroma expresses cherry, both sweet and tart. The flavor follows with even more cherry! It's pretty intense, and there's some earthiness and a bit of mustiness to it, but no real "funk". It's sweet upfront, then tart, and finally earthy, spicy, and musty in the finish with residual tart and sweet cherry lingering. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and gently effervescent and crisp and bristling with a carbonation that's enhanced by the acidity of the beer itself. Quite nice.

From the bottle, it pours dark reddish amber, with a small head. The nose is tempted by a rich cherry smell , which then translates into a nicely sharp cherry flavor in the mouth. Yum!
