The appearance of this exceptional beer is matched only by its taste! To make our Framboise, we add raspberry juice to our lambic. That gives it a delicate fruity aroma and a beautiful dark pink colour, just like the dress I wore to our cousin Willy's wedding. (But that's of no interest to you since you undoubtedly don't know Willy). Framboise is served as an aperitif, but I also use it in cooking. And when I don't finish the bottle in my preparations, I finish it in my glass.

Pours an effervescent chestnut/purple with one finger of purple/pink head. Below average head retention & lacing

S: Raspberries in spades

T: Follows the nose, a little dryness, more sweet than tart, but some tartness up front. Some acid & tartness attempts to fight through sweet raspberry as this beer warms up. Finishes sweet, slightly tart with trace amounts of woody bitterness & red grapes

MF: Light/medium body, restrained carbonation, slight acidity

Easy to drink, not something to session on but a great Aperitif or Dessert Beer

A through-the-head pour from a 250ml bottle into a goblet produced a finger of light pink fizzy short-lived foam. A thin ring and film last over a hazy dark pinkish purple body. Irregular blotches of lacing remain.

A bold smell of raspberries (fresh and cooked) jumps out as the cap is removed. After pouring, faint smells of bread, yeast and toast, candied fruit and a light old fruit funk appear under all that raspberry.

Evenly sweet and tart/sour at first, raspberry dominates with bready malt appearing briefly during the middle. As in the smell, the raspberry is both fresh and cooked/canned tasting with a light fermented (old) funk. Low bitterness throughout with a vinegar/wine tang. The finish doesn't really become dry; sweetness and sourness diminish leaving a refreshing tart taste behind, raspberry and the funk (at it biggest) linger on.

Averagely carbonated per style and medium-full bodied. Starts out sweet, finishes neutral. Highly quaffable, alcohol is an afterthought. Big raspberry smell/taste yet the feel is not overly juicy. Not really smooth or balanced, just crushable.

more juice than beer (basically literally at 2.5% ABV), delicious but a little *too* juicy

Clear, attractive reddish brown with pretty decent lacing. Sour berry aroma. Sweet raspberry flavor, balanced by a light tartness. Wouldn't have guessed 2.5% ABV.

Appreciate the Lambic style….trends more towards juice. Sour, exploding raspberries , vinegar, lemony, faint earthy grapes…

I got through about 1/4th of a glass and tapped out. It tastes like a cheap candle. I imagine if it was really hot outside maybe I might like it but it’s got a really harsh taste.

I've had this on the shelf for a while. It pours a dark brown with a reddish tinge. the aroma is molasses and raspberries, taste is similar, with a little tartness. Interesting flavor
