A weird altbier/schwarzbier combination of sorts. A dark reddish brown brew with a nice head of off-white. Aromas of fresh german malts, subtle german hops, and a nice floral air. Taste is hoppy up front and slighlty altbier like. The middle is malty and slightly spicy as well. Nice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and well-carbonated. Drinkability is good as well. Nice.

This is the first beer I try on our visit. The beer is served in a 12 oz fluted glass. The brew is a dark mahogany color and exhibits some ruby tints when held up to the light. There is a small edge layer of off white colored head. Aroma is a mix of caramel anda some very light cocoa scents. Generally mild aroma, but appealing. First sip reveals an average boday and light rolling carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt and caramel sweetness throughout the sampling. A very clean finish makes the drink enjoyable and refreshing. A nice dark lager, wish more places brewed this style.
