My first trip to the new McKenzie's location yielded a winner! The Nugget IPA is basically just a firm, malty IPA done with Nugget hops in the usual high-quality Scott Morrison manner. The malt is a bit doughy and just slightly caramelish. The citrusy/piney hops are mildly present in the nose, and a bit more so in the mouth. They're not overdone; and it's a very well-balanced and very drinkable ale. The after-work crowd loved it. Highly recommended.

Appears a clear orange toned amber with a fluffy white head. Tons of scattered rings and spots of lace are left around the glass. Tiny bubbles slowly rise to the top of the glass.
Smell is of spicey citrus with hints of pine, and mild caramel.
Taste is of candied orange with some of the pine and light caramel flavors coming through.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, and bitter but in need of more balance. Hops are drowning out the mild caramel malt after the initial up-front sweetness. She finishes with a long hop bitterness on the back of the tongue.

This is a specialty production at the Chadds Ford McKenzie Brew House. The ale is served cold. It is advertised as an IPA dry hopped with Nugget hops.
Appearance: The ale has a surprising golden color. For the hops, I expected more amber. There is a decent head.
Smell: There is a light fruity hop aroma, just enough to suggest IPA, but the fragrant nugget rarely appears.
Taste: Good hoppy character, the hops give a bit of citrusy kick, just enough to keep the taste buds involved. The hops don't last long and lack the oomph that I'd like to taste.
Mouthfeel: Very pleasing on the palate, only drawback is that I'm still searching for the nugget hops.
Drinkability: The abv is a little too high for a session (6%-ish), but the flavor is decent and I could drink another.
