Tasted at Glen Mills location on Wednesday the 4th of October, 2006.
The menu states:18º Plato, 8% abv, 25 IBU's.
Served in a frosted 14 oz. "pint" glass.
Clear amber-copper with a crimson cast and orange highlights. The creamy off-white head drops shortly but leaves some minor lacing behind. Full bodied. Delicately zesty carbonation. Smooth and somewhat creamy. The flavor is malty, sweetish, and fruity with notes of plum, apple, sticky raisins, and soft cherry that's almost Maraschino-like, over a sweet-like-cookie-dough, subtly grainy, and lightly caramelish malt. An edge of yeasty spiciness and moderate bitterness round it nicely. Not too sweet, just right. Really tasty! And VERY drinkable. The alcohol doesn't show at all.

Appears a murky, copper toned amber with a 1 finger off white head that slowly fades out into a gentle collar. Mild speckles of lacing are left around the goblet.
Smell is of a raisin & plum reduction infused with light brown sugar, yeasty dough, and a dash of cooked banana, and light dusting of cocoa & powderized vanilla. Mmmhmmm...sure do love that Rochefort yeast. It's the shizle.
Taste is of the same great aromas, only better. The complex flavors materialize into a well blended Belgian Ale. Perhaps not as complex as Rochefort itself but if Scotty Morrison could bottle these again and us uber-beer-geeks could sit on them for a while, I'm sure it would ripen beautifully.
Mouthfeel is sugary, yeasty, mildly spicy, and semi-dry.

A growler from McKenzies.
A: The ale is a light brown color, clear with hints of cherry red. There is no head whatsoever.
S: The ale has a fruity aroma that is heavy on the spices.
T: Fruity flavors rule the day here. I detect black cherry, figs, Muscat grapes and raisins. The flavors are proportioned well, preventing one from controlling the beer.
M: The fruits are paired nicely, resulting in a full bodied ale that is not too heavy on the taste buds.
D: The fruity can be rough on the uninitiated, so tread carefully. This beer closely resembles Raison detre.
