The Glen Mills, PA McKenzie Brew House had this IPA on-tap on 5/17/2008. They served it to me in a slender pilsner glass.

This IPA poured a lightly hazy golden sunshine yellow that had a lightly creamy 1/2 inch head of white foam. This head of foam had really good retention that left behind a small white film and a streak or two of white lace. I didn't get much in the aroma department. The only thing I got was lightly bitter citrus hops and a slight touch of grapefruit. That was it! I know an IPA is suppose to have these aromas in it, but they shouldn't be that light. Oh well, on to the taste. the taste is where this beer kicks into gear. The taste is very bitter with citrus hops, grapefruit, a drop of lemon, a touch of orange peel, and more citrus hops toward the end. I noticed that toward the end some toasted malts tried to come into play to see if they could balance it out, but the hops were too big for these toasted malts. The mouthfeel was inbetween being medium bodied and full bodied. If I had to choose, it was leaning more toward the medium bodied side. The aftertaste to this beer was not too bitter with citrus hops and a touch of grapefruit. This aftertaste will linger on for a few seconds on your tongue. In the end, it's an IPA that tried to balance itself out, but it just couldn't. The malts weren't powerful enough. I wouldn't mind having another one of these. It's worth a shot if it's still available at the time.
