According to the interwebs, this is a sour quad aged two years in wine barrels and blended with young beer. This was reviewed blind as part of the Blind Beers BIF.

Murky cranberry-red, with hues of burnt umber at the edges. Half a finger of large-bubbled, light tan head pops away very quickly.

Pungent. Dr. Pepper, vanilla, soy, something savory like seared steak. Maybe a little black pepper, dark candied figs, raisins, along with some balsamic vinegar. Mmmm.

Tartness is softer in the flavor than the nose would suggest. Brown sugar, oak, vanilla, green apple, a touch of tart cherry, lingering balsamic. That savory, steak-y note is also playing, softly.

Full, velvety body. Very pleasurable on the tongue. Carbonation is zesty; alcohol is pretty much undetectable.

Really enjoyed this one. Nice malt sweetness to play off the tart bacterial flavors, with a dash of oak thrown in for good measure.
