Cool store front operation...Bar on the left, dining are on right (looked like there is an upstairs, but did not go there). Bar seats about 12. A dozen beers on tap, the 3 I had were solid. Did not try the food.

The place has a nice old style pub feel only more bright and open. They had a decent selection of beers and one cask. I tried four of their beers all solid. We went light on food, but what we had was excellent. They also had a band playing good music and lots of fun.

Visited here in the summer of 2014. Quaint place with a solid food menu and real local vibe. A must visit if you're in central PA and visiting Knobels.

Old Forge Brewery is currently my favorite brewery i visit. The staff are great, friendly and attentive. The food is great and they always have a special and/or different selection. They do seasonal events such as "Bacon week" and "American craft brew week". The beer that they have on tap is always rotating so their is always a different option. I am part of the Pub club which essentially means whenever they tap a new beer (which is quite often) you get one on the house. I have only had a few issues with service as in my order being forgotten about or something of the like but it was correct quickly and i was compensated.

Visited on a friday night, quite busy.

I just spent the weekend in central PA with a focus on Knobels. I visited a number of brew pubs. This is the best one in the area, including Selin's Grove Brewing. The restaurant is food focused but I could see how the bar is all about the beer.

Vibe - Kid friendly, but also appealing to a bar fly or a couple without children. I like this place very much.

Quality - Fresh, proper temp, proper glasses. The beers on tap that I had were good. Any BA would be happy with the beer.

Service - Good, with the crowd it was a little slow but generally good. Server was knowledgble about the beer and the menu.

Selection - Somewhat disappointed in the selection available on the day of my visit - it was summer but still only one dark or heavy or strong beer on tap. IMO the beer is good, I rated low because of the limited selection. It would also be nice if they had a guest tap or two.

Food - Excellent - Had the bleu cheese burger. Others in the group had the beef sandwich and salad with chicken. The beer cheese is very good. The pretzel bread for sandwiches is unique and great.

Value - Probably the most expensive place in Danville, but a great value for those of us from the big city.

The bar area for this spot is very "cozy", shall we say. And when I say cozy, I mean, it's frickin' tiny. Maybe 8 seats at the bar, with the brewing equipment to the side of the bar and takin up a lot of space. The upstairs has a ton of room though with an outside seating area also available. I tried one beer, the saison, and it was okay. I probably should have gone with something else, but it was the bartenders suggestion. A nice little spot that has a great theme and is quite clean and seems attended to.

P.S. Propers to the guy on the motorized chair/scooter who asked me if I wanted to race him.

As far as word of mouth goes, I've gotten mixed reviews of this place, but despite my sleep-deprived state when I first visited, I had an enjoyable experience. There are two floors, but I only saw the bottom floor. There's a small bar, and quite a few tables for the smaller floor space of the place, so it's pretty intimate...I'd imagine it'd be a little tight during busy hours. Vibe is plain and simple, no real "theme" going on, but it was nice and homey.

The quality of the beer here is good--nothing spectacular, but all generally good and easily drinkable. They have a good selection and variety of styles, with enough to keep the casual beer drinker happy, and enough to maintain a basic but good quality session for the geeks.

The service was a little bit shaky, but really nothing to complain about; my bartender was a bit young and green, but she held her own.

Food was very good, with basic pub grub and sandwiches, with a few unique options. I believe I had the Bleu Jerk burger, which was mighty tasty. Prices were friendly.

Overall a nice spot, and I'm glad I was able to visit. Would I go back again? Sure.

Old Forge started out as a small little place in this small but bustling town (home to one of the largest medical centers in the state) and its grown and expanded to accomodate its popularity. The brews are solid. A great selection with ongoing tap variety; there's something here for everyone. You'll want to go home with a growler or two or three...or you can pick up their canned selection at a local distributor.

The food is spot on. A nice mix of healthy/local with traditional bar grub. I recommend the blue jerk burger - jamaician jerk seasoning mixed in with local beef then dressed in blue cheese. The only thing as interesting as the menu is the decor! The forge theme is played out in some fun ways with custom scultupe that fits into the flow of the restuarant.

Nice place in a quite little town. I sample several stouts: double chocolate, rye, chili all were good with the rye standing out. I enjoyed the IPL lager and the wheat IPA. Would have licked to try the regular IPA but that had just run out.

The food was good and I would stop again if I was in that area.

Stopped here early in the afternoon on a Saturday beer road trip with a friend. We were able to get a seat at the bar on the lower level and spent the next couple of hours drinking beers, having some food and talking to the locals. Everyone was really friendly and gave us some tips on other beer places to check out in the area since we weren't familiar with the area.

The bar itself is small but has a nice feel. If you aren't specifically looking for it, I think you could walk right past the place as you walk down the street in Danville. Once inside it was cool to see all the Mug club mugs hanging on the wall. Service from the bartender was good and she was more than willing to recommend beers and food.

I'm a pale ale and IPA guy so the T-Rail Pale ale and Underbite IPA were right in my wheelhouse. They can their beers at Old Forge and we were able to get a very reasonably priced case of 16 ounce cans for $36 at the distributor behind the brewery. Great value there.

The food we had was good. Seemed like typical pub food but I really liked the chili. I pride myself on my chili recipe and I swear their chef must have stolen my recipe because they were so similar.

We plan to make the trip back here and I'm going to need to buy more cases of beer the next time because I have a number of friends that want their own after trying the T-Rail. Well done Old Forge

It was a family day trip to Knoebels grove and I was desperate for some "adult time." Old Forge is like ~12 minutes away so I had to stop by for a bite and a couple of brews. 8 house beers on tap and 1 gravity fed firkin. We were seated towards the back, along side the bar. A fan and lights were overhead that created a strobe-light effect which was mildly annoying.

The quality of the beer is decent. During my visit, there was a nice spread of selections that anyone could pick something to enjoy. From memory there was an Alt, Blonde, Pale Ale, IPA, Dunkelweizen, Bourbon Barrel Stout (on nitro) and a black ipa. The food we had was interesting. The skewers of grilled veggies my wife got were not good at all. The tomatoes looked like tomatoes but tasted horrible and the onions/peppers were luke-warm at best upon delivery. My soup was fantastic but the pulled pork we had was troubling. It looked and tasted like cafeteria-style, pre-portioned and reheated from last week. Think spam but with just slightly better texture. This "house smoked" pulled pork was glorified mystery meat. My wife and I went back and forth on whether it was actually beef or pork, we honestly couldnt tell.

While the service was attentive, it was also frustrating. Seeing the firkin sitting on the bar made me inquisitive. I asked what the cask beer was and was told it wasn't cask, it was a firkin. I then received a lecture about how hops were put directly into it and it would be served warm. I honestly dont know if she ever actually told me what was in the god damn firkin. I think the look on my face said enough. She brought me a taste of it anyway and when I asked what it was, I had to ask her to repeat herself twice as i still couldnt understand her. I guess I made her nervous because she spoke very fast and was quick to run away.

I have mixed feelings about this place. On one hand, maybe it was just a bad day. On the other, it was a Saturday afternoon and by no means busy. I would possibly stop by to have a beer if i was in the area again but I would not bother with the food. If I want reheated fast food, there are cheaper options available.

I stopped in with some co-workers while in town on business.

The atmosphere downstairs is very comfortable and the crowd is very friendly. It was mostly locals and they were very outgoing and open to conversation. The bar is on the small side but that certainly gives it a more intimate feel; especially as it fills up. The exposed brick walls and handmade mugs from the mug club add to the simple but authentic feel. We didn't make it up to the second floor.

They had several beers on tap. We tried the American IPA, Black IPA, Belgian Pale and ESB. They were all good. The bartender was very helpful and outgoing.

I enjoyed the visit and would certainly return next time I'm in the area.

Stopped in as part of the neverending PA brewery tour and unemployment chaos. Went in on a Thursday in the early afternoon and got a table near the back. Five beers on tap, and apparently two had just kicked the night before. Darn. I got the sampler (which was a bargain at 6.25 for five 4oz samples), which featured the pale ale, ESB, stout, blonde, and a single malt fuggles pale ale. I think the ESB was the standout of the bunch while the blonde was the worse, really lemony and a tad boozy. The fuggles was an interesting beer that I had never seen in any of my single hop quests in the past, and wasn't bad at all. The food, I got a "colossal" club wrap, which resulted in me getting a wrap the size of my arm loaded with ham, turkey and bacon, along with a side of tortilla chips with homemade hot cheese. It was delicious. My buddy got a huge ham & cheese sandwich loaded with bacon, and he could only eat half of it. Service was great, as our guy (who I think was also the main bartender) kept coming back to us and was very friendly. My five samples and huge wrap cost me 15 bucks after tax. Really good deal. Nice place, I'd come back after checking out what's on tap and seeing if there's new stuff for me to try.

Stopped in Dec 22, on our way home to Pittsburgh for Christmas. Drove by it the first time on the main drag in Danville but easily found a place to park on the street. The first floor has a handful of tables and hosts the primary bar, but it was way too chilly to be sitting near the front door, so we headed up the stairs. There we found more tables and a smaller bar, and around the corner is yet another room with more tables and booths... I think that part is new. We settled on the upstairs bar and set our eyes on the beer menu.

10 offerings that night, 9 of which were explained on the menu. Four Belgian styles were offered, but that's not my thing. As with any small town brewpub, you have to serve a light lager, and there it is: Celestial Blond Ale. I also skipped the Endless Summer pale wheat, so that leaves four for my sample. The Slack Tub Stout was the best of the group: smooth and silky, just like the description. By a nose I liked the more balanced T-Rail Pale Ale over the Overbite IPA. Ludwig's Oktoberfest felt a little thin but was still close to the mark. Everything was very drinkable, and most beers on the menu were right around 5% with a max of around 7%.

The menu is appetizers and sandwiches only, but everything we ate was fantastic. We started with a soft pretzel, and that beer cheese dip is out of this world. My wife enjoyed the Ranch BLT wrap, and I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was served on that same pretzel bread, and it was nice and dry (in a good way). What I mean is, you could really taste the tender meat instead of it being oversauced like so many others. There was a side of sauce if I needed more (I didn't) and the cole slaw came on the sandwich. It was surprising and disappointing to not see any french fries on the menu, but that's at least partially forgotten because every sandwich comes with tortilla chips and another cup of that slightly spicy beer cheese.

As my wife has a severe nut allergy, we were a little apprehensive due to the prevalence of nuts on various menu items, but the staff was very attentive and accommodating... no problems there. As expected in lil' ole Danville, everyone there exuded friendliness.

And cheap! 5oz samples were a buck each (except for the IPA, which was $2). My wife's pint of stout was $3.75. Crazy that beers, appetizer and two sandwiches were less than $30 before tip. The decor felt like a mix of local and modern, and to be honest it was a little more plain/sterile/bright than the rustic look I was expecting, but I'm sure that will change as the newness wears off.

One note: upstairs/downstairs, bar/table/booth, EVERYTHING is self-seating. There is a sign, but we chuckled at more than one couple who waited patiently at the top of the stairs for a hostess that never appeared.

Overall, my wyfe and I enjoyed our experience. We got there at 11:50 on a Thursday morning. We didn't go to the upstairs room so I cannot comment on that but the downstairs was very comfortable. The decor was a mixture of rustic and modern. The staff was very friendly and efficient. They made you feel like you were an invited guest as opposed to being a customer. The food was very good and the prices reasonable. They had a very good beer selection. If I lived in Danville I would be there daily. We will go there again. Overall a very good visit.

This was a narrow space, well off of the beaten path in north-central PA. The doorway opened onto the brewhouse to the immediate left, which was very reminiscent of many of the early brewpubs of the late 1980's and early 1990's. The short, blonde-wood bar ran about 3/4 of the remaining length of the left-hand side of the space. Blackboards on the wall, behind the bar, detailed their available beers, in addition to a laminated list at each of the tables. It was pretty busy on a Saturday night when I visited, so we were escorted aft to a stairway on the right hand side that led up to their second floor. They had an outdoor deck up there but it was closed for the season. The second floor also housed another bar along the left side and a series of booths along the right side. It was a pleasant place to have dinner and my notes say that they celebrated their one-year anniversary on 05 December 2009.

Beers: Six (6) were available on the occasion of my visit. They included T-Rail Pale Ale; Endless Summer Ale; Bellows Brown Ale; Old Foge Alt; Slack Tub Stout and Ludwig's Anniversary Lager. They were decent, but whatever temperature they had the serving room set to, it was too cold to enjoy the beers immediately.

A- The place is a nice area of town. The building has alot wood not to big of a place but holds a good crowd.

Q- The overall quality was a good experience.

S- The wait staff was so helpful. Now waits for any thing. Loved it.

S- well the Beer selection wasn't good but the were in transition of getting bigger tanks in to. So next time I'm sure they be more beer and more selection to choose from.

F- Excellent food very tasty. From the beer infuse cheese sauce to my Jerk turkey sandwich. What more can I say but awesome.

V- Price were very reasonable. Will go again soon.

This was our first time even though we live local. I went with my wife and son in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday.
We went upstairs to the dining room.
I had a sampler of the current beers on tap which were: Old Forge Alt, Overbite IPA, Sunny Days Wheat, Endless Summer Ale. They were generous ( I think they said 5 ounces, looked about right) sized glasses and you had no trouble getting a good taste. I enjoyed all of the kinds with the Summer Ale and Overbite IPA the best and ended up getting a glass of of the Overbite. It is described like this:
The big malt character of this American IPA is offset by the incredible amount of Pacific Northwest hops. Hopped five times in the boil & dry hopped twice in the fermenter, with two pounds of whole cascades in the serving tank, hopheads won't be disappointed.
I would agree with that and add that you don't immediately taste all those hops but they come in a second or so after the initial taste without being harsh. I'm fairly new to beer tasting but this tasted great to me. It is 7.4 % ABV , so it's pretty potent.
We had 3 soft pretzels for an appetizer. They each are bigger than a saucer and are very tasty. They coming with 3 different dipping sauces, a sweet mild horseradish, a spicy mustard, and a savory cheese sauce. They were all very good also.
I had a prime rib sandwich. It was excellent. Great flavor.
We split cheesecake for dessert.
The wait staff was very friendly and courteous.
We'll definitely be going back.

I sat at the bar downsairs on a Saturday with my brother with maybe four other people in the entire pub. It was very cozy and it was also very tiny, with the brewhouse equipment sharing floorspace with the bar. The small size definitely added to the overall charm of the place.

The artsy mugs all over the wall and hanging from a rack next to the bar provided colorful decor, and the wooden chairs were comfy enough.

Unfortunately, there were only four beers on tap (normally they have eight, at least they had eight taps) the night we were there. The food was good and reasonably priced; I had a tasty turkey and pesto grilled cheese that was spot on, while my brother enjoyed his salad.

I drank the overbite IPA and enjoyed the kick-you-in-the-face hoppiness of it.

On a side note, watch out for horrifyingly large spiders on just about everything along the street outside. Arachnaphobiacs like myself may be advised to just walk down the middle of the street.

I had lunch here on a weekday afternoon, so aside from a few locals out on lunch break, the place was empty. The decor is airy, clean and comfortable. There is a bar downstairs and another bar upstairs with an adjoining sit down dining area. The staff was friendly, although the waitress serving our table was not particularly conversant with respect to the brews offered that day. Regarding the beer, the selection is good, as is quality. Growlers are available and we liked what was on tap enough to take two home. The food is good in its own right -- much better than average for a brewpub.

If you didn't like it you didn't try hard enough to give 'em a chance. Waiting for a drink when the wait staff is standing 7 feet away? Frak you (Atlasbrew). The bartender was right there the whole time and didn't wait to ask if I wanted something. You should get the samples of all the beers first! You won't know what you want if you don't. I don't normally like pilsners and that is only what I had here! The other beers were average to me, stout, pale, and red, the pilsner was really good and I am usually a dark beer fan.

don't either hold yourself to the menu per say. I asked the bartender 'Rachel' I think, "What if I get the small salad with a scoop of the chicken salad on top and the thai peanut dressing on the side?" she says "yeah that is the best thing here and the chicken salad was made for the thai dressing!" Wow was that awesome with the pilsner. This was on the end of a 4 craft brew tour of upstate NY and this PA brewpub. If you are within a half hour of this place you are in err if you don't stop and have 3 or 5!

Made a special trip up here for my dad's 60th.

This was a Saturday evening, about 7:00, & I was kind of surprised by how light the crowd seemed. Filled up a bit later, but was still not near capacity.

The decor's pretty cool, the kind of artisanal vibe you see from a lot of brewpubs but specific to the place. Exposed brick wall with a cool metal sculpture of tools at one end. The mug club is kept on a huge rotating hanger, & each mug has the member's name fired onto it. Pretty cool! Upstairs has its own bar, & one wall had a huge bellows hanging on it. There was some outdoor seating, but didn't open for another week. Looks like it would be a great open-air environment in the summer months.

Service was pretty on, but there also wasn't much competition for the waitress' attention. Still, she was patient & friendly when we changed our orders.

The beer list was not as exciting as I would've liked. At the time, the offerings available were the stout, a Belgian blonde, a summer wheat, Irish ale, English mild, & their house lager. Nothing wrong with these, but I would've liked to have seen something hoppy & maybe more than one dark beer. The brews were decent enough, with the stand-out being the lager. This was good stuff, a Czech-style lager with a nice citrus & pepper balance. The others didn't make much of an impression. I could see that they also make a porter, IPA, & alt, any of which I would've loved to try had they been available.

Food was decent enough, too: got the dirty mussels, which were tasty, followed by the jerk turkey sandwich. Would like to see the menu expand, but I can't complain about what we got.

Prices weren't too bad, either. Three meals with appetizer & multiple beers for $60 is pretty reasonable, I'd say. Overall I'm glad I checked it out, but don't foresee making a regular trip up to Danville for it. I'd love to see them expand & get a little more adventurous with their brews, offer a large selection at one time, & expand their menu.

Had walked by this place a few times and it always seemed busy, sometimes a line out the door. I finally got a chance to stop by during the daytime and was very pleased I did.

Atmosphere - We went there in the afternoon on a weekday, the setting was mellow with just some music playing and good conversations going on. The staff was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable about the food & beer offerings.

Service- The food came out fast, and my glass was never empty longer than a few seconds. The place got busier the longer we stayed but the staff still seemed to remain completely on top of things.

Selection - There were 4 offerings, an IPA, stout, alt, & a pale ale. I had the IPA & stout, the IPA was really tasty & the stout was a good session brew.

Food - My gf had the food, some fancy sandwich & pretzel. She said it was good, and the portions were large enough that she got an extra meal out of it.

Over the goddamn mountain in the dimming of the day, I'm up 1-0 in "Escape the Amish", and now in Danville a short while later, I've got a bald fat cop looking at me at the light I'm stopped at ("No, I've not visited your brewpub yet. I'm heading there just now"). Left, and then the first right onto Mill Street, most calm on this Friday night, all 9-11 somber. In a strip of buildings & storefronts on the block easily parked; this one not conspicuously marked but, oh, it must be the place with the mash tun & fermenter in the front window...

A single deep narrow room, with creamish walls and an olive trim, in this light anyway, and some exposed duct work blended in ceilingwise. A single row of track spots down the center does them well lit for just that, and some non-spinny fans too. A small bowling lane slat wood topped "L" shaped bar with some mad twisted guard rail looking thing as a footrest sits to the left. The seating of 9 surprises as it really is tight. Brick wall barback with ceramic mug club mugs on hooked slat boards over framed shelving holding glassware & growlers. A big board off to one side lists tap selections, IBU's, ABV's, OG's, and down past there, a wall rack with a giant ladle, a very long handled BBQ type fork, and a large teeth pulling apparatus over a pair of wood tables sharing common benchage. Okay, there's this cool welded wrought iron fence piece to the rear in front of the kitchenings that you really must see. It's red, with a wagon wheel atop and all sorts of scary sharp tools imbedded within, in a hell's gate kind of way. It's on my short list of bad ass, seriously. And some T shirts displayed back there for sale too. 3 candlelit hightop tables below framed mirrors behind me as I sit barside, and a staircase to somewhere over my shoulder; I may go explore but the stairs go up, so maybe not.

Do I want to, sure, I'll look at the menu and hey, can I get this chicken sandwich grilled and hold the mayo & cheese and are chips on the side, okay? As opposed to what? Really, well yeah, the soup then, screw the chips. It was a Polish wedding soup served in a mug, difficult to maneuver but it was tasty and the chicken sandwich was money. I put it down, strong!

8 tap tower on the end of the bar with wrench, pliers and other twisty shaped thing tap handles. The sampler would have been all 8 beers had the Kolsch not been kicked, so do the math, count on your toes if you need; there were just 7 (Slack Tub Stout, 4.5%, on nitro, good nose, molasses & oaty; Irish Draught, 4.7%, nitro too, an Irish amber, decently caramelly; Old Forge Alt, 5.2%, hoppy, with a good malt underbelly; Endless Summer Ale, 4.8%, a light golden ale, easy drinking, summer's almost gone; Petey's Porter, 4.5%, nice roastiness, chocolatey goodness; Celestial Blonde Ale, 6.3%, Belgian candy sugary, heavy & sweet; Underbite IPA, 6%, an English IPA, good hoppy bite and a nice finish). Thought the Slack Tub Stout, Old Forge Alt, Petey's Porter & Underbite IPA were the best of the bunch, but I'd hardly say the others were of the suck either.

Went upstairs, had to really. The bar there even smaller than this small bar, which I did not believe to be possible. Nearly a dozen tables & booths up there, and a 4 table deck to the rear for warmer weather seating. They've got a giant smoke blower thing mounted, I think it's called a bellow. I should get one of those just to have.

Did I mention the tunage? They were piping in some excellent stuff; I was singing along on the inside (Can anybody hear that? No, okay). The crowd was a decent lot except for amusing angry bandana boy at the end of the bar talking his beer muscle shit for all to hear. I suspect my note taking wasn't helping the cause as he was clearly jealous of my ability to read & write (go home, asshole). Good food, better beer, and service served its purpose. I like the place, they make good with very little space.

Old Forge Brewing company sits in the middle of the quaint downtown area of Danville, PA on Mill Street. We decided to check them out this evening during a nighttime holiday shopping festival on Mill Street. Our plans were to sample a selection of brews and enjoy dinner. Here's the lowdown on the brews:

Ludwig's Anniversary Lager - "A reddish brown Oktoberfest style beer in honor of Prince Ludwig's anniversary. Big, bold, with plenty of malt flavor to satisfy any palate."
ABV: 5%; OG: 1.054; IBU: 23

Color: Deep cooper with thin beige head
Aroma: a bit yeasty with some earthy hop aroma. Just a touch of toasted malt aroma.
Flavor: Toasted malt with a assertive fruity and yeast flavor. Moderate bitterness. Hints of apricot, definitely German malt like Munich or Vienna. Bit of a spicy flavor Finishes semi-smooth with just a touch of dry bitterness and some esters of alcohol.

Bellows Brown Ale: Medium bodied, full flavored with a bready mouthfeel and subtle roasted chocolate malt flavor. Well balanced with traditional English and American hops.
ABV: 5%; OG: 1.052; IBU: 30

Color: Clear brown with thick beige head.
Aroma: like women's perfume...toasty, biscuity malt aroma with earthy and herbal hop aroma underneath.
Flavor: Very bready and biscuity with a hint of smokiness and chocolate-ness and some waitress's really horrible perfume. Roasted English malt and hoppy flavor. Smooth and drinkable with a touch of bitterness towards the end. Perhaps a bit more bitterness than I would like in a brown ale.

Overall on the brews that we tried, we can only say they were just okay. I wasn't thrilled with either that I tried. I thought that the lager was perhaps fermented at too high of a temperature, and the brown ale was way too bitter in an unfavorable way. My theory is that they are running into the same problem I attribute to the drop in quality at Selinsgrove Brewing: too high of a demand for something that takes too long to make well. Cold-fermentation of a lager would take too long and so higher temperatures are used which can "push" the production faster, downside; it will result in off-flavors, which might explain the assertive yeast bite in the Ludwig's that I tried.

The pub menu was quite extensive, and they pride themselves on "healthy" selections. I'm not sure what measurement they're using for "healthy", but the food was delicious. We enjoyed a huge soft pretzel with their own ale-infused nacho cheese sauce, my wife had a pulled pork sandwich served on a pretzel roll with coleslaw and barbecue sauce on the side, which was very messy but incredibly tasty. I indulged in a Philly Cheeseburger prepared medium (as requested) with nacho cheese sauce and fried peppers/onions on pretzel roll. Both sandwiches were served with tri-color tortilla chips and the pub's cheese sauce.

Table service started out good, but quickly dwindled while we ate, and we suddenly felt rushed by the waitstaff(mostly young girls) even though there were plenty of empty tables by that time and closing time was hours away.

~~~The waitress actually asked me if I wanted to "take care of the bill" WTF? Thing was, I was about to ask her for another beer. But she personnaly changed my mind for me and was trying to rush me out the door. I guess they didn't want anymore of my money.~~~~

One way my wife tends to measure service is how quickly her glass is refilled once empty. At Old Forge she was never asked if she would like a refill on her water. So she spent half her meal with no drink. Here again, the waitstaff was a no-show. And again, my wife was going to purchase one of their in-house sodas. Guess they didn't want us to do that either!

Another bad part of the evening was when one of the waitresses apparently went on a smoke break, and to cover up the smell of her cigarette, bathed herself in perfume. The smell was quite overwhelming, and as you read above, threw me off in the review of the Brown Ale. The upstairs area of the dining room is not very big, but there were three or four waitstaff who all seemed to gather near our table and chat, which was a little distracting. The brewpub offers free wi-fi, but it would not assign an IP address to our laptop so it didn't work. We had no connectivity. Maybe that was on purpose.
