Pours slightly hazed brown with a creamy, thin, lasting off-white head that leaves thin lines of lacing.
The smell is of caramel/toffee with roasted notes.
The taste is of caramel, a bit of cocoa as it progresses. Mild sweetness balanced by roast and a bitterish hop presence in the finish. Slightly astringent.
It has a creamy medium-to- full body. Nice carbonation level.
The maltiness I expected in the style is a bit hindered by a roasty, slightly bitter finish/aftertaste. I don't know that I could "session" this one, but, still-in-all, this is a nice, roasty, bitterish-leaning brown that is well-worth trying!
