This place has an above-average "vibe" for a Kroger store beer department. Excellent selection of craft beers, with several WV brewers represented. Also a decent smattering of Ohio brews, plus many other regional and national brands. The staff were polite and helpful as well. Overall, recommended.

Stopped in here on a recent trip to Morgantown. Has a typical supermarket feel to it. There is an ok selection of craft beer, surprisingly small selection of WV brewers, a mix a six section for $10, but otherwise it was all sixers, no singles. Service was friendly enough. Overall decent I suppose, but nothing special.

Ok, now keep in mind that this is a grocery store, so what I am going to say will totally surprise you! They have an unbelievable selection of fine beers here. I admit I've been to places with a better craft selection, but they still have a number of those here as well. Prices are pretty good as well.

Shrug. The selection at Krogers is about what you'd expect in a town not exactly renowned for their craft beer selection. They have a couple of cold boxes of craft stuff (rogue, flying dog, great lakes, sierra nevada, etc.), a few import selections, and then the usual, predictable ocean of macro swill. Looked like they also had a fair size selection of Yuengling, if you're into that.

As for service, it's a grocery store. Everyone working here was nice enough, but they pretty much leave you to yourself while shopping, whether it be food, wine or beer. Atmosphere is OK I guess. There are a couple of Krogers in town and this looks to be one of the newer/nicer ones. Prices seem OK. A 6 pack of SN torpedo bottles will run you $9.49, which struck me as a little bit high, but not overly so.

If you happen to live in Morgantown, then this is a good place to keep in mind. Can't imagine stopping by here otherwise. No one is going to mistake this place for a Whole Foods or a Wegmans.

This is the place to get beer locally in Morgantown. This is for the Kroger in Suncrest Town Center. Even though WV doesn't get near the distribution that it should, this is the best place to find anything in Morgantown. They always have the latest Flying Dog and Great Lakes available as well as the other macros. Prices aren't that bad as well. This is one of the reasons I don't care for the bar Jay's Getaway that much. This place stocks everything that they have available and it's tons cheaper than what Jay's is trying to sell you for their 'experience.'

Again, nothing amazing beer wise compared to Pittsburgh or DC, but for grabbing a quick 6pck, this is the place to go.

If you're really looking to find good beer such as Bells, Southern Tier, Stone, DFH, there are two places semi-close to Morgantown I'd recommend.
One is Kornitus which is in Point Marion, PA. Its truly a hole-in-the-wall place in the middle of nowhere that sells by the case but the prices are pretty great and they always have something decent.
The other place is McHenry Beverage Shoppe in McHenry, MD. This place has a great selection of beers, though the drive is pretty far if you're just going for the beer.

Kroger's isn't a bad place to pick up beer. They have about the same selection at any of their locations (although the new location east on 705 is little better) or any other food stores (mainly Giant Eagle).

They have SN, Rogue, Mountaineer, and several other craft selections. They have imports, such as Guinness and Newcastle. There's always a lot of BMC cases to buy.

I have never seen any one that specifically helps in the beer aisle, and the few times I've been around someone stocking, they had no ability to help. (The new Krogers is much better in customer service.)

Kroger has a very good selection for West Virginia. Everything is under 6%, but of course all of WV us under 6%. Probably the best place to buy beer in Morgantown. Mostly 6-packs and cases, but there are a few singles and mini-kegs.

Good variety. Many breweries from surrounding states represented like Wild Goose, Old Dominion, Great Lakes, along with others like Sierra Nevada, Rogue, and imports. Reasonable prices. There is also a decent wine selection, and there is usually somebody staffed just for the wine department.

The place to go if your looking to pick up some bottled beer in Morgantown.

UPDATE:

Now that WV has revised the 6% law to bump up to a 12% limit, the beer selection has grown to include bigger beers.

Remember, this is a beer store in West Virginia where the 6% cap has crippled the craft beer distribution.
It is being reviewed for what it is, the absolute best beer selection I have seen to date in the state, period.
I have been to better beer stores in other states, but in WV, this is as good as I have seen. Multiple selections of all the following craft brewers, Wild Goose, Sam Adams, Abita, Rogue, Magis Hat, Sierra Nevada, Harpoon, Saranac, Dundee, Great Lakes, Samuel Smith, Dominion, Mountaineer, Penn, and several others.
Huge import selection as well.
All in six packs, some twelves.
