Pours a medium orange, quite clear, with a light tan head that builds to about two fingers before settling down gradually and leaving some lacing. Smell is quite sweet, the fact that it's been spiced is apparent. Cinnamon is present in a big way, dark fruits and candied orange showing up as well. Taste is rather unbalanced for me. Sweetness and spices open well, but the cinnamon goes a bit too far and overwhelms the rest of the profile. Grassy finish and an unpleasant aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin and sharply carbonated. Fails to warm and leaves me unsatisfied. Drinkability is okay, but for me this beer is too muddled to really provide a satisfying experience. My biggest disappointment with this brewery to date, this feels a bit thrown together and lacks their usual craftsmanship.

The holidays are over, but I was late picking this up. Got one of the last singles from Premier Wine & Spirits in Halifax.
Appearance: Pours a hazy dark brown with a reddish hue. Nice tight off white head settling to a nice lacing.
Aroma: Sweet malts with big spices. Cinnamon and fruit. Also pick up on maybe some cloves, dates, raisins and other micemeant ingredients. Can't get much from the hops.
Taste: Sweet and spicy. The cinnamon does a lot for this brew. It is never here nor there, but in the right spot. The blend of spices really give the beer character, rather than seem like a novelty.
Mouthfeel: A tad thin, could use some more body for sure. Drinkability could vary depending on your tastes. For me, I could session this over the holidays.
Final Statement: Would do better next year if they raised the alcohol content and gave it some more body. The spices are great and would make a good spiced winter warmer if they improved some things. Still a decent Christmas brew, worth trying if they make it again next year.
