Årslev Engsø 23/7 2020. 50 cl bottle from Silkeborg Museum, Silkeborg. I suspect they find the name of the beer appropriate for a museum displaying the mummified remains of Tollund Man. Bøllingesø Brewery’s usual design in green.

Pours murky mahogany with big off-white head. Settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is fairly intense with a strong sweetness. Brown sugar, caramel, nuts and lightly roasted malts. A bit metallic.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, lightly tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with a sour undercurrent. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.

Brown Ale from the old fashioned sweet end of the spectrum. Appropriate for a beer hailing mummified corpses hanging out in bogs.

500 ml bottle, from Ølkonsortiet, Aalborg. ABV is 5.2%. Brown colour, large to moderate off-white head. The aroma has notes of brown malts, toffee and nuts. Also hints of wood and "dusty" hops. The flavour has a nice malty character throughout, but is not very sweet. Notes of brown malts and nuts, hints of fruit, very moderate but noticeable hops in the finish. Drinks well. At least it is better than Newcastle Brown Ale.
