Clear gold with a smallish head. Bready malt nose. Light malt body with a nice crispness. Would be a good blonde ale for gateway to craft purposes.

Canned: Clear golden color with moderate activity and a veil of yeast. Slightly foamy 1 finger head, lasting around 2 minutes, not much legs nor swirl reaction. Flavors of butter, caramel, sweet barley, oatmeal, light apricot, and floral hops. Slick medium to full body with a moderate crisp. Light strength finish, mostly caramely, ending with soft balanced flowery hops, very slightly leafy. Not much fruits. Refreshing, decent balance, though the intensity is a bit too low and over accessible. Typical pale ale, the texture is alright. Overall above average quality craft.

Blondes Ales look just as they sound and Seaport Blonde delivers exactly what's advertised: a fair, bright yellow coloured beer with a very light, clean complexion. Bubbles aren't abundant but prove effective enough to build and sustain a thin collar of pearly white foam (no lacing though).

Beer doesn't get much more straightforward than this - grain makes up the overwhelming majority of any recipe (water excluded) and this bouquet showcases it almost exclusively. One becomes intimately acquainted with the fresh baked bread aromas of the malt.

This is an ale that tastes like it belongs in the lager family. The only flavour on display is that of pale malt. Simple and wholesome, it's undisturbed by any fruity yeast esters or bitter hoppiness of any kind. That said, it isn't sweet by any stretch of the imagination; the finish is dry and bready.

Seaport Blonde is what a marketing agency would call "crisp and clean". I generally try avoiding those terms but they are the most appropriate ones to describe this kind of simple, approachable, refreshing ale. It's got a 'sunshine' kind of vibe you wouldn't expect from a Maritime beer.

There's probably not a lot of room in the beer geek's fridge for a light blonde ale like this, but it's these kinds of offerings that have widespread appeal. Taken for what it is Seaport Blonde is a very acceptable option. Well-made and highly agreeable, it's an easy one to recommend to certain consumers.
