Was not sure what to expect on this bomber purchased in late 2019 released in 2018....age did it just fine.
Pours a clear ruby deep copper (the dregs were a bit cloudy but this was not a one man beer) with half finger of tawny head.
Aroma of raisins, brown sugar, toffee, notes of the barrel, vanilla and a bit of floral earthy hop.
Tastes of raisin, bread pudding, toffee, vanilla. Notes of the whiskey barrel - a bit of booziness, bittersweet earthiness.
Moderate full mouthfeel with decent carbonation - toffee/brown sugar sweetness with a smooth warming boozy finish.

20 year anniversary brew.
American Barleywine/Imperial Hybrid aged 12 months on Glen Breton Rare Single Malt Whiskey Barrels.
Appearance - Pours a ruby amber with two fingers of bubbly white head.
Smell - oak, honey, toffee malts, earthy and leafy hops, raisin, plum, caramel, and earthy yeast.
Taste - oak, honey, toffee malts, and earthy and leafy hops upfront. The raisin, plum, caramel, and earthy yeast round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes chewy with the oak, honey, raisin, plum, alcohol, and earthy and leafy hops lingering.
Overall - A mere sipper of a brew from Garrison. This is one displays the elements of the style well and certainly is a hybrid of the Barleywine and IPA styles. Worth a go if see this at your local liqour store.
