Bottle from the brewery. It says cascade on the bottle, but tasted more orange citus. Very cloudy golden body with a great soapy head. Refreshing aroma. This is big IBU, but it is boozy as if liquid alcohol like a beer cocktail. So-so drinkability, 500 ml. is a lot.
Had a later batch at Mondiale 2011 and it was much better hop wise.

500 mL bottled stamped '10050027' with a truly ghetto label, let's see what is inside... Many thanks to papat444 for this beer I would never have otherwise found! Got in late July, drank in early September. Bottle marked 'Columbus'.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip and is an excellent orange-red with a slight haze and a beautiful 1" head that retains its shape seemingly forever. A little bit of flocculated yeast made it into the bottom of the glass, alas. The sticky lacing is fantastic.
S: Strong alcoholic esters with a hit of caramel and sweetness along with a bit of earthy hop aroma. Not as much aroma as I would expect from a DIPA
T: Alcoholic warmth along with a caramel sweetness that is offset fairly well by the underlying bitterness. Some earthiness is playing in there too, with thebitterness biting back over time. Very enjoyable, but just edging towards 'too much hop to be a barleywine', without being nearly as over the top as most West Coast DIPAs that I love so very, very much. It is not at all feeling of the high ABV, but there is some alcoholic hit.
M: Strong carbonation is a bit over the top, but it is a very thick and sticky in the mouth which is great.
D: 9.1%? Bitter and sweet? The only thing holding this back from a '5' is hop flavours and aromas.
