Its crimson amber body is almost perfectly clear. One finger's worth of thin off-white head is quick to coil into a ring. Lacing is nowhere to be found.

I get both components of a sour cherry blaster; the tart puckering cherry skin quality and its gummy candy sweetness. The tartness from green grape skins is rounded by a silky oak character. There's a candied quality throughout. I get a bit of sweet bread as it warms. It's pleasant and not in your face.

Immediately sour. Tart cherry and grape skins latch to the back of the palate. Its fruit character comes in more robust and is layered on top. There's plenty of field berries and fleshy cherries. A vinous quality with a stroke of tannin lingers into the finish. As it warms, its fruitiness gets deeper and its ABV becomes more pronounced.

It's neat and well put together. Below average carbonation with a tickly feel. Medium bodied with a refreshing dryness.

I got this bottle at Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau. One of my favorite places on earth. Although I don't think it was worth its $15 price tag, I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Its balanced approach with its rounded sourness makes for a great intro to the style.

Thanks to papat444 for sending me this brew

Poured a light red with tinges of brown, almost opaque but perhaps a bit hazy. Small head forms on the pour but quickly dissipates leaving only some lacing. Definite nose of a Flanders red, sweet yet a bit funky. Taste is fantastic, malts, cherry's and a very nice tartness. The only issue with this beer is that it goes down far too easy and I would love to have it again!

Pours a nice, ruby red color in the glass....small head that goes away pretty fast.

Has quite an awesome aroma....sweet and sour berries, vinegar....citric acid. Gets my salivary glands going just with a smell! Mostly sour, with a hint of sweet. Lovely.

Taste follows the aroma pretty well. I get some sweet cherries, overpowered by tart berries....a bit of a vinegar taste and puckering citric acid. However, the acidity/tartness isn't really enough to cause my heartburn to be an issue so that's definitely welcome. I think some of these beers go overboard a bit....this toes the line pretty well. Leaves me wanting another drink.

S - Nice acidic character. Vinegar, wooden notes. 4/5

T - Nice balance of the flavors with wooden notes and berries with some tanins. 4/5

M - Good balance sweet/acid. Slightly tannic from the red wine barrel. Very smooth. 4.5/5

O - Refreshing, well thought out and to style. The wine barrels really add something. 4.5/5
