Official blurb first: Jamie Floyd has travelled to Caledonian Brewery, in Edinburgh, to brew a special version of one of his brewery’s beers, just for this Wetherspoon real-ale festival (Autumn 2013). This straw-coloured beer has a light, crisp malt aroma, with a fruity hop presence of apricot and mango, leading to a creamy mouthfeel with toasted flavours and a refreshing, hoppy, creamy finish.
Hops used: Crystal, Liberty, Simcoe.
My notes:
Not sure I've knowingly had a 'Cream Ale' before, so didn't know what to expect.
Hand-pulled half-pint in the William Withering, Wellington on 18th Oct 2013.
Golden yellow body with a pure white crown of foam.
Mellow in flavour and aroma, malts just about rule the roost, but the hop content added more fruit-like tastes and smells to ensure the beer was well balanced and easy to drink.
Nothing to suggest it was a 'Cream Ale' apart from the name: ticks a box though!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
