A pretty bog standard buttery and butterscotch tasting pale ale. Not exciting but good enough to enjoy. The label is pretentious but the beer is refreshing.

Is this the same as "cunning as a bag of weasels?"
Chestnut brown with a thin frothy head. Perhaps it is different.
Malt aroma.
Malt all the way. Mildly bitter finish.
Smooth.
Perhaps not.

Served at cellar temperature from 500ml bottle into pint mug.
L Dark brown / copper colour, clear, lots of small streams of bubbles. Nice fluffy slightly off-white head.
S) Malt-dominated; some chocolaty hints in there. Smells nice if subtle.
T) A nice soft slight hint of chocolate to the malt taste, very slight hint of roasty bitterness to the malt too. Hops are typical subtle for a British style, not very bitter.
F) Fairly light mouthfeel, clean taste with no cloying bitterness in the aftertaste.
O) I like this one, would buy it again.

500ml bottle at home from Aldi Supermarket, Cardonald (£1.49):
Not a bad example of the style at all, this one was quite enjoyable & well balanced beer that went down a lot easier than I thought it would without truly excelling in any noticeable way. There was a fairly nice variety of flavour & I liked the touches of caramel sweetness dotted throughout, they seemed to work well with the bitterness, it was also an easy one to finish.
