Served in a half-pint glass at the Whey Pat in St Andrews.

A: No carbonation. Thinnish, bubbly head with decent retention.

S: Rather nice -- citrus and gentle hops.

T: Thin, slight bitter, with astringent citrus that belongs in Pledge. The aftertaste isn't great either. Fairly boring, with a splash of fruit.

M: Thin and unpleasant.

D: Quite downable, but not good. I wouldn't have another.

Tasted by half-pint at the Duke of Hamilton, Hampstead, North London. I suppose apart from the first review by Francisweizen, all the other reviewers incl. me have tasted the beer under the same name but being brewed to a different recipe, and certainly it's a bitter now, not a mild.

A: copper-ish hue, great clarity, with a thin fluffy beer head and a low carbonated body.
S: lightly resinous and hay-ish hops with fruity (like sour-sweet berry fruits) and spicy hints (a bit like Goldings but I'm not sure), on top of a smooth maltiness.
T: fruity hoppyness sits on top of a slightly nutty and juicy caramel maltiness, followed by a superb lingering aftertaste of woody edge and plenty of herbal as well as lightly nutty bitterness in the finish.
M&D: the body shows a nice balance b/w hoppyness, its woody bitterness, and restrained dark malts... Lively textured upfront yet going softer and softer on the mouthfeel, this is a rather quaffable, hoppy and fruity bitter~~ If I were a rugby fan, this could've been a good choice for a session beer.

Poured dark gold with a thick off white foam top. Beautiful lacing all the way to the end.
Slight yeast and floral hop aroma
Smooth, easy drinking malt goodness of toasted caramel. Balanced superbly with a twang of flowery hops.

Enjoyed on cask at the Malt Shovel in Edinburgh. Although I was inbetween Six Nations action, I was able to enjoy yet another fine brew from this wonderful brewery. Low ABV and smoothness make this deceptively drinkable. There other offerings were distinctively more hoppy and malty, but this was smooth and easy.

On cask

Pours with a light amber body. Creamy head sits atop, pretty good retention.

Smell, hints of yeasty caskness, some hint of malt, almost a sweet perfume coming off

Taste, dry and malty with a nice hop bitterness on the finish

A really good session ale

A dark brown brew with that classic cascading cask beer look. Aromas are heavy on the malt and light on the hops, but superbly balanced and enticing. The taste is very malty, with a nice bang of hops in the end. The mouthfeel is creamy, smooth, and thick and the drinkability is good.

I forget if this was labelled as a bitter or mild, but it weighed in at about 6%abv. This sample was from a brand new cask that they put on at the head of steam. So new, that I saw them putting it in!
