Look: Golden amber, nice off white foamy head, shrinks a bit then lingers turning to lacing. Clear
Smell: Sweet fruit plus hops but not a tropical hop, more like some dark fruit plus a piney, dank aroma to follow.
Taste: Bitter first and foremost, which is to be expected with something called extra IPA. Very herbaly, earthy, yet slightly sweet almost sugary lemon candy hop profile and minimal malt body.
Feel: Light-intermediate body, soft carbonation, not too foamy, kinda slick.
Overall: Not bad. Not an IPA guy but I'll drink it.

Pours a brilliant golden-copper in color, topped with a pale tan head. Good lacing.
Sweetish nose, with ripe pear, golden apple and biscuit malts.
Sweet and lightly tangy on the first sip, with a much more complex malt character than one might expect. Wonderful restrained bitterness going on, here, along with the fruit from the nose.
Aromatics are also noteworthy. This is an herbal, fruity malt bomb! Lighter notes of mint/basil going on. While this is stronger and sweet-ish, it has a nice, dry, lingering hop bitterness along with a dryness which also lingers. I reckon that this would be a very good food beer for richer, fattier meats and a strong/sharp cheese.
Very good drinkability, and a great mouthfeel.
Not at all bad for what it's going for (and NO, it is not an American IPA... ), and this one has turned out to be a very nice surprise. Wish it was a regular seasonal rather than a one-off!

The aroma is sweet and nutty, with a buttered toast element. There really should be some hops in there. The hops pick up on your tongue, with a little orange ring before the earthy, spicy finish. That buttered toast also remains. Overall, it's tasty and very drinkable. Call it an ESB and I'm happy to order a second pint.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. 2015 mixed 12-pack. Sampled on November 13, 2015.
Slightly hazy brown pour with lingering white head.
The aroma reminds me of caramel malts in a cardboard box with a sort of fruit character to it
Light to medium body.
The taste is definitely caramel sweet with little to no hop character. A kind of musty cellar moldiness to it. Mild finish. I always hope Newscastle special beers are going to be so much better than they turn out to be.

A: Golden amber in the glass, brilliantly clear with a small amount of pure white head on top.
S: Light floral hops, clean and perhaps a touch of honey and ozone. Some very light grain aroma. Very subtle..
T: Sweet up front with honey, and bread notes, followed by floral hops and a decently long bitterness.
M: Medium bodied, with fairly high carbonation, there is a certain amount of softness to the feel but there is also a bit of a bitter cling to the hops.
O: Not too shabby, perhaps a touch cloying at the front but overall a decent beer it you have an English hop craving.
